Democratic and Republican leaders of the Minnesota House reached a power-sharing agreement Wednesday night to end a three-week stalemate that the state's chief justice said left the chamber “completely dysfunctional.

Minnesota’s House of Representatives convened with all members present Thursday afternoon under a power-sharing deal that ended a weeks-long boycott of the session by Democratic-Farmer-Labor lawmakers.

After more than three weeks of Democrats boycotting the session amid that conflict over who should be in charge of the chamber, both parties say they came to a deal that ensures they can govern the rest of session and get a state budget passed for their constituents who sent them to the capitol in the first place.
