The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says it is currently on the ground in Texas, collaborating with the local health officials to combat the growing measles outbreak.

US measles cases jumped by a third over the past week, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data, a worrying sign in the outbreak that’s already linked to two deaths.

A new case of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza, known as bird flu, has been detected in a Dallas County mixed species backyard flock. The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced the detection on Saturday.
