Members of the U.S. Coast Guard will continue to get paid despite the government shutdown, according to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

Noem said the Department of Homeland Security found an "innovative solution" to ensure Coast Guard personnel get paid. Most federal workers aren't receiving paychecks.

The U.S. Coast Guard announced Monday that its military service members will receive their mid-month paycheck this week. The paycheck, due on Oct. 15, will be processed and deposited in accounts between Oct. 15-17, according to a press release from the Coast Guard.
