JetBlue (JBLU) is now accepting Venmo (PYPL) as a payment option for flights booked on its website, making it the first airline to do so, the company announced on Tuesday.
JetBlue has become the first airline to accept Venmo for flight bookings, offering travelers a seamless payment option via the JetBlue app.
JetBlue has been updating its services recently, including adding features to its app like a boarding countdown and gate information, CNN reported. It is also bringing back nonstop flights between Pittsburgh and New York City after cutting several unprofitable routes last year.
Venmo is an easy way to pay, but credit card holders might not receive extra bonus points for the transaction.
Venmo payment options are available on JetBlue website, and will roll out on carrier's mobile app in coming months.
JetBlue marks the latest in a growing number of companies, including online merchants like Amazon and eBay and brick-and-mortar stores like CVS, that have started accepting Venmo as a payment method.

JetBlue has become the first major airline to accept Venmo as payment. The company issued a press release on Monday (January 21) announcing that travelers can use Venmo to pay for their flights. Currently, Venmo payments — which use money from either your Venmo balance or bank account — can only be made when buying flights on JetBlue’s website.
