The CBP One app was set up under the Biden administration to create an orderly way for migrants to enter the U.S. and to reduce illegal border crossings.

Footage taken by a Washington Post reporter in Juarez, Mexico, showed migrants who had been waiting for appointments they’d scheduled through CBP One weeping at the gates of America after they learned the app had been shut down and their appointments scrapped.

In a move fulfilling one of now-President Donald Trump’s campaign promises, the Trump administration shuttered the use of CBP One, a President Joe Biden-era app meant to help process migrants seeking to apply for asylum in the U.S.

President Trump plans to sign executive orders that will fundamentally change how the nation handles immigration, beefing up enforcement and deportations.

The CBP One app allows migrants in certain parts of Mexico to request a time to be processed by American immigration officials at legal border entry points, also known as ports of entry.

Trump campaigned on border security promises, and he and his allies argue that his electoral win is an endorsement of his upcoming actions on the issue.

Since CBP One app was fully rolled out in January 2023, more than half a million immigrants have been admitted into the United States.

The planned orders include declaring a national emergency to deploy military personnel to the border, suspending refugee resettlement and ending birthright citizenship.

The CBP One app has disappeared for migrants and The Trump administration will reinstate its “Remain in Mexico” policy.
