Rizzo, 35, has spent the last three-plus seasons with the Yankees after spending 10 years of his career with the Chicago Cubs. With Chicago, Rizzo was a three-time All-Star, a four-time Gold Glove award winner, and a one-time World Series champion.

The Yankees moved on from Anthony Rizzo over the winter, but the former All-Star first baseman still is looking for work as spring-training games have commenced.

He became a free agent in November when the Yankees declined his $17 million option. He got a buyout of $6 million, a number he can’t get close to now to be on a major-league roster. But he doesn’t plan on settling.

This led to the Yankees declining Rizzo's $17 million team option for 2025, a decision that could lead to the four-time Gold Glove Award winner retiring. Speaking with The Athletic for an interview released on Friday, Rizzo admitted this could be the end for him.
