Austin could see storms before a 40°F cold front drop
Severe thunderstorms capable of producing 75 mph wind gusts, hail larger than two inches, and isolated tornadoes are expected to reach the Austin metro area Tuesday night into Wednesday, with a fast-moving cold front dragging temperatures from the low 80s down into the upper 40s by Thursday night.

The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center has placed parts of Texas under a risk of another round of severe weather this week.
A strong cold front will bring storms to tomorrow morning’s drive and more comfortable weather to follow. However, a Thursday cold front will bring rain and a few thunderstorms in the morning through early afternoon, followed by cooler and drier conditions Thursday night into Friday and Saturday.
