Russia is amassing thousands of troops at the border with Ukraine’s northeastern Sumy region, the Ukrainian president said, amid reports from the Ukrainian military that Moscow may be preparing new attacks on Kharkiv.

Russian forces control the Novenke, Zhuravka, Veselivka, and Basivka communities, Governor Oleh Hryhorov said. "Residents of these villages were evacuated long ago, and there is no threat to civilians.
