A Michigan judge ruled on Thursday that the state House had the legal requirement to send the nine stalled bills to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's desk, but stopped at forcing the House to present them.

The bills, which include increasing the amount public employers pay toward their employees' medical benefit plans, are being held up by Republicans for a "legal review." The judge seems to have set a March 19 deadline.

A state judge will rule on a dispute between the Michigan House and Senate over the fate of nine bills that the last Legislature failed to present to Whitmer.
