Once again, the summer season comes to an end, and crisp autumn days are upon us. Temperatures drop, the days get shorter and vibrant colors quickly spread across the mountains and valleys as trees prepare for long nights and frosty temperatures.

Some parts of the Adirondacks are approaching the midpoint seasonal leaf transition this week, with other locations just beginning to see the color change. As usual, the area leads the way for color transition in the Empire State.

However, while New York City may not notice a change, I Love NY, the state’s tourism website, issued its second New York Fall Foliage Report, which indicates that most of the state is experiencing a turn toward the customary colors associated with the season.
