Thierry Henry has questioned Arsenal’s lack of silverware under Mikel Arteta. The Gunners have made steady progress since Arteta returned as head coach in December 2019 but the FA Cup victory achieved later that season remains the only trophy won under the Spaniard.

The scenes in Armoury Square, outside the Emirates Stadium, were reminiscent of those in Trafalgar Square the day after the Lionesses lifted their maiden European title in 2022, or those in the same N5 location when the Arsenal men’s team lifted the FA Cup in 2015 and 2017 (there was no public celebration in 2020 because of Covid restrictions).
