A Mastic man has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for the 2023 fatal shooting of his longtime friend.

A home on Poospatuck Lane on the Poospatuck Reservation in Mastic where, Suffolk County police said, Umar Elquhir, 45, of North Bellport, was found outside late Tuesday with fatal gunshot wounds.
