Soccer is the most-followed sport in the world, and with the FIFA World Cup returning to the United States next summer one of the biggest names in the global game is getting ready to potentially appear at his sixth major tournament.

Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts will host seven matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, one of the biggest sporting events in the world. The games Gillette will host include a round-of-32 match, and a quarterfinal match. The rest are "group stage" games.

The Club World Cup is an annual tournament hosted by FIFA that pits some of the world's best soccer teams against each other in a competition similar to the World Cup. The 2025 format is brand new and expanded, so it's not yet clear if there will be gaps for future tournaments.
