Toyota will offer a RAV4 GR Sport for the first time. The compact SUV has more power than the Corolla GR Sport, being rated at 320 horsepower

The first new RAV4 in seven years sees the conventional petrol engine bow-out completely, and the GR Sport become a plug-in hybrid more powerful than the GR Corolla.

The production version, now called RAV4, was first revealed in 1993 at the Tokyo Motor Show.

The 2026 Toyota RAV4, by comparison, will come standard with a 2.5-liter I-4 with hybrid power in either front- or all-wheel drive. Power starts at 226 hp for the standard hybrid FWD while the standard hybrid AWD will bump up to 236 hp, thanks to its third electric motor, which separately powers the rear axle for on-demand AWD.
