Boeing will be back in the hot seat Tuesday as the National Transportation Safety Board holds a hearing to present its findings from an investigation into the terrifying incident in which a door plug blew out of an Alaska Airlines 737 Max.

The blowout aboard Alaska Airlines flight 1282 in January 2024 occurred minutes after it took off from Portland, Oregon.

The National Transportation Safety Board investigation over the past 17 months found that four bolts securing what is known as the door plug panel were removed and never replaced during a repair as the Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft that lost the panel after takeoff from Portland International Airport was being assembled.
