The eighth season of the Adult Swim animated space comedy will debut on the network on May 25. The premiere date was announced at the end of the “Rick and Morty” April Fools’ Day surprise broadcast special, a predictably bizarre reenactment of fan-favorite moments through the lens of live-action theater.

At the end, Adult Swim gave an announcement for the new season: Rick and Morty would be returning with season 8 at 11 p.m. EDT. While the rest of the play may be a goof (sorry!) the final release date is serious.
