Amazon is saying goodbye to “Try Before You Buy.” The service allows Amazon Prime members to try on select clothing items, shoes and accessories at home before completing a purchase.

Amazon began offering Try Before You Buy as a beta program under the name Amazon Prime Wardrobe in 2017. It debuted with 1 million items across name brands like Levi’s and Adidas. Amazon expanded the service’s availability to more Prime customers less than a year later.

Prime Try Before You Buy let customers pick a few items to be sent, and only pay for what they decided to keep.

Amazon will shut down its Try Before You Buy Amazon Prime program at the end of January. The service, launched in 2018 as Prime Wardrobe, competed with similar try-before-you-buy services, such as Stitch Fix.

Amazon Prime members receive many perks including next-day delivery, Prime Video access and a multitude of budget-friendly deals. And until now, users could benefit from the 'Try Before You Buy' scheme, where they can try on clothing, accessories and shoes without the commitment of purchasing them.
