The New England Patriots can finally put a date next to their 2025 opponents when the NFL schedule is released on Wednesday. There is a great deal of anticipation for the season with the arrival of Patriots coach Mike Vrabel and the many coaching and roster changes he's made in recent months.

The 2024 season was the first since 2000 that Bill Belichick wasn't the New England Patriots head coach and 2024 No. 3 pick Drake Maye was starting his NFL career. After a second consecutive 4-13 season and another dismissal at head coach, the Patriots will have a significantly different look and some increased hope for 2025 and beyond.

However, the Patriots only needed to clear on roster spot and released undrafted free-agent tackle Cole Birdow. The reason, according to a source, is that Pene, who’s from Tours, France, qualifies for an international roster exemption.

The Denver Broncos have reportedly hired Patriots scouting director Camren Williams to lead team's player personnel department.

The New England Patriots announced they signed RB Trayveon Williams and released DT Eric Johnson II in a corresponding roster move.  Williams, 27, was a sixth-round pick by the Bengals out of Texans A&M back in 2019.

The Patriots did some roster shuffling to kick off the week. They announced the signings of defensive tackle Isaiah Iton, guard Mehki Butler, and defensive tackle Wilfried Pene. Undrafted rookie tackle Cole Birdow was waived in a corresponding move.
