Several roads across North Carolina were washed out by severe flooding and heavy rainfall as a result of Potential Tropical Cyclone Eight which started on Monday with remnants dumping rain for three days across the state.

Potential Tropical Cyclone 8 has moved inland along the South and North Carolina Border. The storm is weakening and moving toward the western part of our state. Many roads and ferries in our region are closed due to the heavy rains: SR-1105 (Cross landing),

The storm did flood several blocks of Carolina Beach, North Carolina, and bring widespread wind gusts over 40 mph. North Carolina's governor urged people to stay off the roads in stormy conditions.
