Manchester City have completed the signing of Nico Gonzalez from Porto. The 23-year-old midfielder has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal through to June 2029 with City, who agreed a deal with Porto that will total €60million (£49.

The 23-year-old becomes City's fourth addition of the January transfer window as Pep Guardiola begins to rebuild his squad. Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis arrived earlier in the month at a cost of more than £125million.

Man City have a short-term need in replacing injured star Rodri, but their new midfield signing Nico Gonzalez seems better suited as a more long-term solution to take over for aging Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva.
