According to the Associated Press,the flooding also caused road access to be cut off to Gardiner, Montana — a town of about 900 people, positioned outside Yellowstone's north entrance.
A flood watch was issued Thursday for all of Northwest Montana, including Flathead, Lake, Lincoln, Mineral and Sanders counties. The watch begins Saturday afternoon and lasts through Monday afternoon.
