The team got an early lead on the Chiefs, who had already secured the top spot in the AFC and decided to rest most of their starters. Had the Cincinnati Bengals lost their game on Saturday, the Broncos might have still made it to the playoffs with a loss against the Chiefs; but with a win from the Bengals, Sunday’s game was Denver’s last hope.
