But there was a whole lot more to Benny Goodman than just a royal nickname. Goodman proved that jazz belonged in America’s most prestigious music venue with his historic 1938 Carnegie Hall concert.

Throughout its long history, the venue has hosted legendary performances by Judy Garland, the Benny Goodman Orchestra and the Beatles. Carnegie Hall achieved New York City landmark status in 1967.
