The Arizona Supreme Court has declined an emergency request to extend the deadline for voters to fix problems with mail-in ballots.

The Arizona Supreme Court declined to extend the state’s deadline for voters to fix problems with their mail ballots after finding no evidence of disenfranchisement. The American Civil Liberties Union’s (ACLU) Arizona arm and the Campaign Legal Center raised concerns that thousands of mail ballots won’t be processed until after Sunday’s 5 p.

Arizonans whose signatures on early ballots have been questioned won’t get more time to fix the problem and ensure their votes are counted.

The groups’ petition noted that as of Friday evening more than 250,000 mail-in ballots had not yet been verified by signature.
