The leader of South Korea’s ruling party said he’s stepping down following mounting calls for his resignation, after President Yoon Suk Yeol was impeached over the weekend for his brief martial-law decree.

The court has up to six months to decide whether to remove Yoon Suk Yeol from office or to reinstate him as president after his impeachment over an attempt to declare martial law.
