Japanese strawberries are set to be available in the Philippines soon as the two countries have reached an agreement to lift the ban of the export of the fruit into the country, according to Japanese Ambassador to Manila Endo Kazuya.

Japan on Sunday lifted the ban on exporting fresh strawberries to the Philippines. The Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan (MAFF) announced the lifting of the export ban.

The Philippines has lifted the ban on the importation of fresh strawberries from Japan, the Japanese Embassy in Manila said. The embassy said Japan's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) made the announcement following discussions with concerned Philippine quarantine officials.
