Michigan has hired Chip Lindsey as its next offensive coordinator, the school announced Friday. Lindsey served most recently as North Carolina's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the last two seasons and worked with current New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye during the 2023 season.

Lindsey landed at Michigan, where coach Sherrone Moore fired offensive coordinator Kirk Campbell three days after the team's 13-10 victory at Ohio State to close the regular season. Campbell was Michigan's quarterbacks coach when it won the national title after working as an offensive analyst during the 2022 season.

A week ago, Moore fired offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Kirk Campbell, citing a need to jumpstart the Wolverines’ struggling offense. Michigan ranked 128th in FBS in total yards (294.3) and 111th in scoring (22.3) in 2024, the primarily culprit behind the team’s 7-5 season.
