Cincinnati Reds infielder/outfielder Tyler Callihan is expected to be shut down for six to eight weeks before resuming baseball activities.

Cincinnati Reds rookie left fielder Tyler Callihan is expected to miss at least two months following surgery Tuesday to repair his fractured left forearm suffered while attempting a sliding catch a night earlier.

Tyler Callihan, who just made his MLB debut for the Reds last Wednesday, broke his left forearm running into the wall in the left field corner to make what initially seemed like an inning-ending catch in the bottom of the third Monday night.
