Instagram and Meta's entire suite of social apps, including Facebook, Messenger, and Threads, are all down on Tuesday in a major outage

Users reported problems accessing many of Meta's social media services, including Facebook, Instagram and Messenger.

Meta says most issues have been resolved after apps like Instagram, Facebook and Threads were experiencing issues on Wednesday afternoon and errors were reported by people across the internet. In a post on X, Meta apologized for Wednesday's outage. "Thanks for bearing with us! We’re 99% of the way there - just doing some last checks," Meta said.

Reports across Bluesky, X, and Reddit show many are experiencing an outage across Meta products. Meta platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Messenger, and WhatsApp, are reportedly down. The outages seem to have begun just before 1 pm and are affecting a large number of users.

Instagram outage reports began spiking at around 10 a.m. PT, according to Downdetector, and the same time frame hit on Facebook , Facebook Messenger , WhatsApp and Threads. (Disclosure: Downdetector is owned by the same parent company as CNET, Ziff Davis.)

Meta said on X that they are aware of a technical issue impacting some users' ability to access their apps on Wednesday.
