But before the metaphoric curtain rose on the production, Alaska — who co-created, co-wrote and co-stars in the musical — dedicated the performance to the late Jiggly Caliente, after her death earlier in the day.

Arabejo, known by her stage name Jiggly Caliente, died days after her family said she had been battling a "severe infection" and lost "most of her right leg."
