The 9NEWS Weather Impact Team has issued a Weather Impact Day for Thursday morning because of the snow that will affect the morning drive.

CDOT cameras in the area of the closure show at least two semitrailers that appear to have slid off the slick, snow-covered stretch of eastbound I-70 near Limon.

While Denver remained mostly dry, aside from a sprinkle of rain and snow in the early morning hours, other parts of Colorado saw over half a foot of snow.

Thursday will be a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day due to the possibility of snow accumulating during the morning commuting hours in areas to the south and east of Denver.

Weather Advisory is active through 5 p.m. Thursday for the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Wet Mountains, upper Rio Grande Valley and eastern San Juan Mountains, NWS forecasters said.

Denver's weather will have plenty of sunshine and mild highs on Wednesday, as some light snow pushes in across the southern border.
