Colorado’s mountains will see several inches of fresh snowfall Sunday as winds whip through the lower elevation foothills and Eastern Plains, NWS forecasters said.

The Colorado Springs area is expected to have sunny weather with a high near 55 today. Light snow will be possible across the higher peaks of the central mountains today, with new snow amounts up to around an inch.

Sunday a High Wind Warning is in place from 11 a.m. through 11 p.m. across the Front Range, with wind gusts up to 75 miles per hour possible in the foothills and mountains.

The snowstorm, which will move into Colorado overnight Thursday, is expected to last through Friday evening, according to NWS forecasters.
