The highly-anticipated final at the Cincinnati Open came to a sad ending on Monday, as World No. 1 Jannik Sinner was forced to retire from the match against No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz while trailing 5-0 due to illness. With the result, Alcaraz wins his third Masters 1000 title of the season and his eighth overall in his storied young career.
The new-look US Open mixed doubles event starts on Tuesday, with Carlos Alcaraz set to feature alongside Emma Raducanu amongst a star-studded list of pairs. New for 2025, the mixed doubles in New York will be staged on the two biggest courts – Arthur Ashe and Louis Armstrong – over Tuesday 19 August and Wednesday 20 August.
Alcaraz has never had a wife. In fact, his girlfriend history is also scant, with only one name credibly emerging. Tennis Tonic reported that Alcaraz once dated a woman named Maria Gonzalez Gimenez when he was 18, but they split.
