With 1:11 remaining, Grizzlies star guard Ja Morant committed an intentional foul to stop play so Memphis could get their substitutes in to finish out the blowout win. As he made the foul and the whistle was blown, Morant had some words for the Brooklyn bench in the direction of Nets head coach Jordi Fernández.

Ja Morant pulled up near the free-throw line and made a mid-range jumper as the halftime buzzer went off at FedExForum against the Brooklyn Nets. Morant, who was in a groove as the Memphis Grizzlies extended their lead, walked toward the Nets bench area, where his celebratory antics weren’t well received.

This was one of two games added to the Grizzlies' schedule after the NBA Cup games were set. For Memphis (17-8), Friday is a chance to avenge two losses earlier this season to Brooklyn. The Nets (10-14) beat the Grizzlies 119-106 in Memphis,
