Kelly Cates is expected to leave Sky Sports to become one of Gary Lineker’s successors as host of the BBC’s Match of the Day. Cates, the daughter of Liverpool great Sir Kenny Dalglish, is set to take up the role which will see her join Mark Chapman and Gabby Logan as the new regular presenters of the British broadcaster’s flagship highlights programme.

Cates will quit Sky Sports at the end of the 2024-25 campaign to make a switch to BBC where she will be a part of a three-member team alongside broadcasters Mark Chapman and Gabby Logan to present their flagship Premier League highlights programme,

Presenter Kelly Cates has been tipped to be the replacement for Gary Lineker on BBC One’s Match of the Day. It has been reported that Cates will leave her role on Sky Sports to join the revamped team taking over the football round-up, alongside others.
