Armenia and Azerbaijan published the text of a U.S.-brokered peace agreement on Monday, pledging to respect each other's territorial integrity and formally put an end to nearly four decades of conflict.

The treaty is also yet to be signed. At the White House, one Azerbaijani precondition for signature was resolved – a joint request for the dissolution of the mediation architecture set up in the 1990s by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), known as the ‘Minsk Group’.

The federal government is calling for the release of Armenian detainees and prisoners of war in Azerbaijan as it praised the road to peace paved by a White House-brokered meeting last week between the two countries locked in decades of conflict.
