When you book online do you need to book a certain date and time? It seems like you just buy a ticket and then it’s valid for 90 days after purchase so can you just turn up any day then to use it? Thank you

Yes, I bought tickets online a day before my November visit, they did not have any time slot specified and were valid until February. With the online tickets, was able to bypass the ticket office queue and go directly to the turnstiles.
Taxi to the castle - how close would I get/what street would I ask for?

We took a Tuk Tuk to the castle; it was $10 one way and got us close to the castle entrance. The Tuk Tuk can also give you a tour of Alfama ending at the castle Lisboa is awesome!

I went in August and the Castle closed around 7pm. There was a long line to buy tickets; however, the line moved fast. As someone mentioned, there are other places in Lisbon to see a sunset.... anywhere actually. I also remember that the only form of payment was cash because the credit card machine was out of order. Make sure you bring cash with you just in case. Have fun!
