Yes. you can bring inside. Not aware of any restrictions. Also there are shops and restaurants within walking distance.

We bought one day tourist package in Playa del Carmen which includes: visit to archeological parks Tulum and Coba + lunch. total price was 50 USD per person.

Is the pyramid open to climb now, given that COVID is now behind us?

During our visit - there was not possible to climb. We went there in April 2022.
