Started our trip in kaanapali. Had reservations for the black sand beach and my husband HAD to try the famous banana bread ( which was delicious) Beautiful scenery but the actual drive was horrible!… Full review by leo007_13
We plan to take this drive in January and have seen contradictory comments about the red sand beaches. Open or private property?? Once on this road… one can turn around and back track? And wondering about the gardens… I didn’t see any comments about these.

We didn’t have ANY problems at the Red Sand Beaxh. Easy to get in and out. Parallel Parking is limited and it was an easy walk to the beach behind the green school house.
