Hanlontown is a city in Worth County, Iowa, United States. The population was 206 at the time of the 2020 census. It is part of the Mason City Micropolitan Statistical Area. Hanlontown was founded on October 9, 1899, when a portion of the Chicago and North Western Railroad was built in the southwestern part of Worth County. It was named for the property owner, James Hanlon, and was incorporated on January 18, 1902.
