One of the most beautiful and unspoiled places we have ever visited. Just Magnificent. We did this via cruise ship. We visit Dusky, Doubtful and Milford Sound. We saw a number of bottlenose dolphins.… Full review by need2trvl

I camped in Te Anu which was inexpensive. It is a nice town with shops and restaurants. The only down side is it takes a two hour drive to reach Milford sound for the tour.. Do not let …

I don't think so but not 100% sure. There are many tour buses that do a fantastic job. My recommendation is to go with one of those tours. They will stop and show you things like …

I don't think so but not 100% sure. There are many tour buses that do a fantastic job. My recommendation is to go with one of those tours. They will stop and show you things like waterfalls, small hikes etc. that you would not find on your own or in an Intercity bus.

A:
Since the roads are VERY slow (2 lane, winding) driving somewhere will eat up your time. You can pick up a helicopter in Te Anau and view the Sound.
