Hi, We’re planning a trip to Milford sound in November and we’d love to kayak. It seems Te Anau is a better kicking off point? We have dry suits as we have kayaked in Scotland (although we still consider ourselves fairly novice paddlers) Is it advisable to bring them along? Also, are you very busy? We don’t yet have a definite date.

This trip was so great! You can choose the length of your paddle but if you want to do the entire sound, expect to paddle 4 hours. I’m torn on advising you on booking. We did early and had a fabulous day but our group could have had one more kayak... so if you’re flexible on days and times there may be a slot open. But if you have to do this paddle at a given time, book. Also, we would have hated to miss this, it’s that special!
