It is a great place but I can’t recall it being free. My wife is disabled and as far as I recall, we paid for a full family ticket. It was worth it though. You will spend a couple of hours in here. I have visited several other aircraft museums and it’s here that we learnt more than anywhere else. The people around have a real genuine passion for the planes and like to share their experiences. You also get to go close and personal with some of the planes (more so than most other places). If you are after a free museum - RAF Air museum on the outskirts of London is free and a great place to visit. Disabled acces their is fantastic.
Q:
We are making a specific trip to the museum in the hope of sitting inside the Vulcan. Is this a possibility?
A:
Yes the museum has a guide who will give you a free talk and you are able to climb into the aircraft from below just as the crews used to enter.
